Meet the Owner

Owner and Chef:  Ruethaithip (Gail ) Lloyd

I'm from a small town in the eastern side of Thailand named Surin. I came to the US in 1996. I was cooking Thai food in other Thai restaurants for 13 years. In 2010 I returned to Thailand to get my Thai food cooking certificates from the TIFA (Thai International Food Academy) so I could open my own Thai restaurant and serve excellent traditional Thai food. Every dish is prepared when you order, and I use fresh ingredients for that traditional Thai taste and texture. Please no substitution of ingredients.

I was born and raised in the state of Wisconsin. I moved to Pasadena, Ca. with my mother when I was 15 years old. My whole family worked in the restaurant industry for most of their lives. I was a busboy and a waiter in my younger years. I owned and operated a small snack shop for 13 years in Pasadena named Marshall Freeze. I  retired after 32 years from JPL / NASA in January of 2013. Gail and I have wanted our own restaurant for years, and now here we are. Please stop in and visit us, and experience the Jasmine Thai Restaurant for your self.
